Customers on the Growth or Ultimate plans can use Dixa to receive and send text messages (SMS).
To get started with text messaging in Dixa, you will need an SMS-enabled phone number.
To purchase an SMS-enabled phone number, please reach out to Dixa Support at friends@dixa.com
If you already have phone numbers that support text messaging which you are using with Dixa, navigate to Settings > Texts to review the list of available phone numbers.
Please note only SMS-enabled numbers will appear in this list.
Some SMS-enabled phone numbers must be activated to support SMS. To activate SMS on a phone number, click on Request to Activate, which will alert your Customer Success Manager who will activate the number for you.
Finally, to start using a phone number for text messaging, simply toggle Enable on.
You can assign each SMS-enabled number to a specific queue. To add a number to a queue click the Edit button and choose the appropriate queue from the dropdown in the displayed popup.
Known limitations
- MMS is only supported on inbound messages originating from US and Canadian phone numbers.
- Receiving and sending text messages to 'Sender IDs' (a string of up to 11 alphanumeric characters that entirely replaces a telephone number) is not supported.
- The origin and destination numbers need to be in the same country code.
- A new conversation is started if there's no activity for 24 hours.
