Setting up authentication with Okta

The following steps need to be completed in order to use Authentication via Okta:

1) Set up application

2) Set up email claim

3) Set up trusted origins

4) Make sure agents are created in the Dixa application

5) Give Dixa the necessary information to set up the authentication

  • Issuer URL
  • Audience
  • Client id

Setting up the application

1) Click on "Applications" in the top menu.

2) Click on "Applications".

3) Click "Add application".

4) click "Create New App".

5) Choose "OpenID Connect" as the sign-on method.

6) Click "Create".

7) Add a fitting name and logo.

8) Fill in the "Login redirect URI's". The URI should be https://<yoursubdomain>.dixa.com/dashboard?oktacallback

9) Click Save.

10) Click the "Edit" button.

11) Click the "Implicit (Hybrid)", "Allow ID Token with implicit grant type" and "Allow Access Token with implicit grant type" boxes.

12) Click "Save"

Setting up trusted origins

1) Click "Security" in the top menu.

2) Click "API".

3) Click "Trusted Origins".

4) Click "Add origin".

5) Add an appropriate name.

6) Iń the field "Origin URL" fill in .https://<yoursubdomain>.dixa.com.

7) Click "Save".

Setting up the email claim

1) Click "Security" in the top menu.

2) Click "API".

3) Click the edit button on the authorization server you wish to use.

4) Click "Claims".

5) Click "Add Claim".

6) Fill in the values as above.

7) Click "Save".

Getting the necessary information to pass to Dixa

Dixa needs three pieces of information to enable Okta authentication

  • Audience
  • Issuer URL
  • Client Id

Once you have acquired this information and handed it a Dixa support representative Dixa can enable the Okta authentication.

Getting the audience and issuer URL

1) Click "Security" in the top menu.

2) Click "API".

3) Copy the necessary information.

Getting the Client ID

1) Click "Applications" in the top menu.

2) Click "Applications".

3) Copy the Client ID of the Dixa app.

You are now ready to login to Dixa with Okta.
